Hashtag Hush Now 2017

A New Year brings new promise and exciting possibilities but for some it means more humiliation, subtweets and bullying, It's time for this to stop...

Having taken some time off over the Festive period we are back on the 1st January 2017. Bullies do not take time off and their attacks can be unrelenting and reduce their victims to total despair. We realise that not all bullying is as callous and deliberate but the effects can still be just as devastating. We may have started this campaign but it is yours to carry forward and we want to thank all of those who have already joined us. Even if one person is supported in standing up against cyber bullying this will have been worthwhile. Please take the time to look over our details on how this works and feel free to use any of our images that are posted on our website. Please like and retweet our posts and, most importantly, take a stand against cyber bullying on your own time line.

We are teaming up with the wonderful people over at TheDreamCage.com in promoting this campaign so that it can reach as wide an audience as possible. Let's be clear, at the very least Cyber bullying leaves its victims damaged and fearful but, at its worst, it can and does drive people to taking their own lives. Bullies are small people with loud voices and to stand up to them can take more strength than people have available. We are seeking to provide amplification to those small voices that cry out to be heard.

In the 1990's there was a wonderful group of people who looked over those that travelled in London. Turning their backs on force and aggression they were effective in ensuring that people arrived safely back to their homes. They didn't actually do anything, they were just there and they watched. Today at the beginning of 2017 we are calling for all of you to be Twitter Guardian Angels. We need to stop ignoring, to stop scrolling on by and take action when we see those who are  being abused. Hashtag Hushnow allows you to do this and by doing so you shine a powerful light into the paralysing darkness that the bullied and the downtrodden exist in.

Happy New Year and together let us make Twitter a safer place for all!
